Dear All,

There have been a few questions about the vacation.

According to the information I have received sofar I will follow the guidelines below. However, they may change with time if there are new instructions provided by Chalmers. I will let you know if anything changes.

1. If anyone wants a continuous vacation that is four weeks or longer during June-August, they must apply for this by April 30th. I will approve the vacation provided that the respective group leaders are informed and give their OK. According to Andreas, our HR man, we have to wait with a decision for individuals that may have to engage in teaching during the summer.
2. It is important that group leaders pay attention to the fact that those who have a time limited employment must have taken all vacation days before the employment ends. If the end date is approaching, it may be necessary to plan all remaining holidays and apply for the by April 30th.
3. It is possible to change the time of the holiday if something unexpected happens, provided that it is OK for each group leader.
4. Up to 35 days can be saved.
5. According to the information provided sofar, it should not be necessary to plan for all vacation days at this stage but please make sure the points above are considered and followed.

With this said I hope that you will enjoy all vacation days.

Best regards,
Eva.

Dear all,

Even in strange times like this some things are familiar. It is time to plan for holidays.

Please notice:

  * As employers we need to assure that employees make use of at least 20 days of vacation each year. If you have acquired less days than 20 this year you do not need to take unpaid vacation.

  * You have the right to get your vacation as a continuous four week vacation during June- August (main vacation).

  * If you during the calendar year have the right to more than 20 vacation days there is a possibility to save excess days for future use. Please note though that all acquired vacation is meant to be time off and that you cannot have more than 35 days saved at the end of each year. (30 days from January 1st, 2023).

  * Check your vacation balance in Primula and make a plan with respect to your total amount of days. If you have a redundancy or questions regarding your vacation please contact me.

  * Send your application in Primula at the latest April 30th.
