[Driftstörning] Reminder of system upgrade of File server SOL on Wednesday September 5

Vi har problem med den centrala filservern, SOL, vilken
används av både Windows och Linux-datorer. Servern startar
ibland om utan förvarning och denna omstart tar ca 5 minuter.
Under denna tid saknas tillgång till centrala filer och data.

Åtgärder är vidtagna för att minska antalet omstarter och
dessa har visat sig fungera, men innebär minskad prestanda
för Linux-systemen där det går generellt långsammare.

En uppgradering är planerad till Onsdag 5 september på
kvällen mellan 17.30 och 22.00 och vi räknar med att detta
skall förbättra situationen. Under uppgraderingen är inte
filsystemen tillgängliga från server SOL.

We currently have problems with the central file server,
SOL, which is used by both by Windows and Linux computers.
The server restarts without warning now and then, and it
will then take about 5 minutes before the files are
available again.

Actions have been made in order to reduce the number of
restarts, these seems to work. Unfortunately, these also
results in lower performance for the Linux computers.


An upgrade is planned to Wednesday, September 5 at the
evening between 5.30pm and 10pm, and we expect this to
improve the situation. The file systems from server SOL
will be unavailable during the system upgrade.
