Dear Colleagues,

After a long break, we are happy to announce the upcoming TAC-5 conference.

The 5th International Conference on Transport, Atmosphere and Climate (TAC-5) will take place in Bad Aibling, Southern Germany, from 27 June to 30 June 2022. The conference is planned as an on-site event in the Conference Hotel St Georg. Depending on the development of the pandemic situation, we may have to adapt our current planning. Updates and all information about the TAC-5 are given on our conference webpage<https://www.dlr.de/tac> (https://www.dlr.de/tac).

The TAC conferences are a series of conferences, starting in 2003. They provide a platform for an international information exchange and a discussion forum on state-of-the-art knowledge of the impact of transport on the atmosphere and on climate.

Papers on the following topics are welcome:

  * Vehicle emissions from engine and other sources,
  * Emission scenarios and emission data bases for transport,
  * Near-field and plume processes, effective emissions,
  * Transport impact on the chemical composition of the atmosphere,
  *   Transport impact on aerosols,
  * Contrails, contrail cirrus, ship tracks,
  *   Indirect cloud effects,
  *   Radiative forcing of transport,
  *   Transport impact on climate,
  * Metrics for measuring climate change and damage,
  * Mitigation of transport impacts by technological changes in vehicles and engines,
  * Mitigation of transport impacts by operational means.
Observational, experimental, remote sensing and modelling studies are encouraged.

Scientists, researchers, and engineers from all over the world are invited to participate in this international conference. The TAC-5 conference will include both oral and poster presentations, covering all aspects of the impact of the different modes of transport (aviation, road transport, shipping etc.) on atmospheric chemistry, micro-physics, radiation and climate.

Abstract submission<https://tac2022.welcome-manager.de/front/content.php?id_article=538> starts today on 12 January 2022 and registration<https://tac2022.welcome-manager.de/front/content.php?id_article=541> on 15 February 2022.
More information about the conference is given on the conference webpage<https://www.dlr.de/tac>.

Please forward this email to colleagues who might be interested in attending TAC-5.
In case of any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at tac at dlr.de<mailto:tac at dlr.de>.

Best regards
The TAC-5 organizing committee
