Originally this development was motivated by SAXS tomography but it can be used for other modalities as well. He will give an online seminar on 13/09, 11 German time, details can be found here

I think I can join, but I teach a little later that day so something might get in the way.

I would guess this focuses mainly on symmetric rank-2 tensor visualization (a polynonial of a constant and x^2, y^2, z^2, xz, xy, yz coefficients, representable as a symmetric 3x3 matrix, isomorphic to the l=2 spherical harmonics, characterized by 3 eigenvecrors, yada yada) a pretty big thing in its own right. I have a rough guess about what this will be about (probably something about utilizing critical points in the visualization) but it would be interesting to see. It would be good if someone else would be able to join too.

@Yang if I'm right this would be quite relevant to you as the index ellipsoid is a symmetric rank-2 tensor.
