[Smam] New journal: tomography of materials and structures

Dear all,

There is a new open access journal being launched from Elsevier: Tomography of Materials and Structures. In which I am Editorial board member, as topical editor for new contrast methods and application-based submissions using tensor tomography. So maybe a journal to keep in mind for submissions! Will be good to have some nice publications there for the first issues! 😊

The development, application and widespread use of the tomography of materials and structures has seen much growth in the last 10 years (also called micro-tomography, micro-CT, industrial CT, X-ray microscopy, etc.). As part of its efforts to support the global tomography community, the International Association for Computed Tomography (IntACT) is considering to establish a dedicated journal for this community.
There is a fast growth of research outputs and progress by tomography scientists, researchers and industrial users worldwide in laboratory and synchrotron based tomography (X-ray, neutron or other), without a dedicated journal for this field yet. Establishing a dedicated journal will bring together the tomography community, ranging from instrumentation and software to various applications fields, and this will help to advance the knowledge, homogenize the terminology used across sub-disciplines and advance the application of tomography based research. It will support the profiles and efforts of tomography researchers and open new possibilities for fruitful exchange within this community. The journal is planned to include invited review papers and regular papers in a variety of sub-disciplines, with expert editors for each subject area. The focus will be on quality papers that add value to the tomography community, and therefore the journal will aim to have rigorous peer review and editorial processes, with reasonable time to first decision.
