Subject: Would you like to study Swedish?

Dear new employee (or “old” but not yet Swedish-speaking),                                         cc admin colleagues, for forwarding to new employees not included in this email

Swedish classes at MC2 with a professional language teacher are offered free of charge for employees during daytime, once a week, for 2h 15 minutes incl short break.
If we have enough participants, we will start a new beginners’ course.
Time will then be decided based on availability and request.

The next round is week 20-25 + 35-42 (Monday 15 May - Thursday 22 June + 28 Aug – 20 Oct) excl national holidays.

You only need to buy the books.*
(For Ph D students taking their first Swedish course with Chalmers, the books can be arranged and paid by Chalmers, provided that you confirm your participation at least two weeks before the course.)

Your supervisor or manager needs to approve of your participation and whether the time spent at the lessons can be considered work time or not.
Homework time between lessons is not considered work time, but should not require more than 1-2 hours per week.

It is important that you do attend once you have committed to a course, as poor attendance may lead to the courses being stopped.
If you drop out during a course, you may not be given a second chance, so please check for any colliding courses etc.

In order for us to plan, please register in this document<https://chalmersuniversity.box.com/s/bokkcxn4wopka6c78cvt8de0ki2cu8vd> asap and in no case later than 9th April, if you are interested.
First come, first served, in case there is not room for everyone.
(Priority given to employees at MC2 and Physics until the deadline).

If you haven’t yet got a chalmers email and cannot access the file, email myself instead.

Please include:

  *   Your name, position and department
  *   Level (for instance “true beginner”)**
Unless you are from Physics or MC2:

  *   the name of your approving supervisor
  *   Proceedo-code and cost centre for your part of the invoice***

* A set of Rivstart A1+A2 text+exercise books should last three – four courses. Available for instance at physical shop Akademibokhandeln or online shops www.adlibris.se<http://www.adlibris.se/>  or www.bokus.com<http://www.bokus.com/> .
** If you are not a true beginner, but would like to learn more, we may still have a group that you could join. Pls describe your knowledge, an assessment might be arranged.
*** The exact cost will depend on the final number of participants, but is usually around 2500 SEK.
