We would like to invite you to participate in an international comparative<br>
study on engineering ethics education by completing the enclosed survey.<br>
<br>
This is the 2nd survey following the pilot survey conducted in this May, if you have already responded to the pilot survey, you do not have torespond, thank you.<br>
<br>
Under the support from the Japanese Society for the Promotion of<br>
Science(JSPS) <Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant Number 25282046>,<br>
the Research Committee on Engineering Ethics of the Japanese Society for<br>
Engineering Education and the Applied Ethics Center for Engineering and<br>
Science of the Kanazawa Institute of Technology, are jointly conducting a<br>
survey on the learning and educational objectives of engineering ethics<br>
education.<br>
<br>
The purposes of the survey are twofold:<br>
1) to obtain a snap-shot picture of the state of engineering ethics<br>
education<br>
2) to receive comments and opinions on the validity and appropriateness of<br>
the objectives of engineering ethics education which the committee has<br>
identified through the empirical and analytical studies in Japan. (Please<br>
see the attached Word document.)<br>

The ultimate goal of the project is to propose a model syllabus for<br>
engineering ethics education for a globalized world.<br>
<br>
The survey is in Excel format and it takes about 20 minutes to fill out.<br>
Please note that there are two sheets, background information and<br>
objectives.<br>
Some of the questions have the pull-down menu to answer. There are also<br>
cells for additional comments.<br>
<br>
If you are not involved in engineering ethics education, please ask your<br>
colleagues who teach engineering ethics and/or related topics.<br>
<br>
As the committee plans to present the results of the survey at the<br>
International Workshop held on December 6, 2014, in Tokyo, it is truly<br>
appreciated if you would send your survey back to Ms. Ayako<br>
