Abstract: In order to model and evaluate large-scale quantum systems, e.g. quantum computer and quantum annealer, it is necessary to quantify the "quantumness" of such systems. This task meets serious obstacles, given the fundamental impossibility of an efficient simulation of large-scale quantum coherent dynamics with classical means. On the bright side, the ?general case? evolution of such systems only allows them to access only a fraction of their available Hilbert space in any finite time interval, so it can be characterized by a non-exponentially large set of dimensionless parameters. I will suggest some approaches towards determining such parameters, and discuss whether these parameters can characterize universal transitions between qualitatively different regimes of behaviour of quantum systems.
